  • Troop Strength (TS): This number represents the troop's combat effectiveness.
  • Traits
    • Cav: Cavalry
    • (Cav): Negates cavalry advantage of enemy.
    • Rec: This troop excels in Reconnaissance.
    • F: This troop has long range offensive capabilities.
  • Advantages, Disadvantages
    • Mobile: May change Risk by +/-3 any round (normal is +/-2).
    • Slow: May only change their Risk by +/-1 from round to round (normal is +/-2).
    • Armored: -1 on Misfortune Table
    • Heavily Armored: -2 on Misfortune Table

Character Traits

Personality Traits

  • Coward: Must always have Risk -1 or lower.
  • Impetuous: Must always have Risk +1 or higher.
  • Fanatic: If fighting for cause, treat as Impetuous and NPC will not Full Retreat or Parley (vs. Leadership Roll).
  • Greedy/Humble: Requires more/less pay for his loyalty.

Training

  • Hero: The PCs who have full stat/skill-blocks, etc.
  • Marine: Gets full TS for amphibious assaults on beaches, defended rivers, etc.
  • Terrain (Type): Gain advantages or less penalties in the specific terrains (Arctic, Desert, Jungle, Mountain, Swampland, Woodlands).
  • Skill (Type & Level): An NPC may have a specific skill.

Supernatural Traits

  • Night: Gets full TS in low light due to Dark Vision, etc.. This is a supernatural trait.
  • Blålystid: Gets full TS during Blålystid, half TS during Rødlystid & Kveldtid.
  • Rødlystid: Gets full TS during Rødlystid, half TS during Blålystid & Kveldtid.

Training

Mercenaries have one of four levels of training: Inferior (-50% TS), Average, Good (+50% TS), Elite (+100% TS).

Higher levels of training takes time, as well as demands higher pay.

Equipment

Equipment comes in five categories: Poor, Basic, Good, Fine, Very Fine. Better equipment costs more money to purchase as well as maintain. All troops may don equipment of another training, but fight as one lower training level (militia fight at two levels lower). A mercenary must pay the full price to upgrade from one level to another as the mercenary isn't upgrading current equipment, but instead purchasing better equipment. Mercenaries may sell sets for half-price.

Equipment costs are modified by quality: Poor (x0.75), Basic (x1), Good (x1.5), Fine (x2), Very Fine (x3).

  • Damaged equipment can be repaired by paying the Maintenance Cost up front. This is in addition to monthly maintenance.
  • Existing equipment may be tailored for a new owner by paying the monthly maintenance cost. This is in addition to the monthly maintenance.
