Velkinor

The term Velkinor, first encountered in this era on 3410.146RD, was found in the historical carvings on a Sol'k pyramid discovered buried beneath one of the Cahokia Mounds on Sol-3 (Earth) in Human space. Transcriptions made of the carvings related the event of the Sol'k discovering a new world inhabited by a "god" named Velkinor. The carvings further detailed the events of a civil war of their people and the ultimate subjugation of their species by Velkinor.
Velkinor began life as a simple organism, but possessing some extraordinary abilities: power over the minds of other lifeforms and near-perfect regeneration. During his early life, as he explored the world around him, he learned that most other life was hostile and a constant danger to his own life. For the sake of survival he learned the best solution was to kill others before he could kill them; destroy all threats.
In time, he began to explore beyond his home world and it was not long before he found other sentient species. His early attempts to establish trade, negotiations and possible alliances failed. Although successful at enslaving these species, he found that this always failed in time as well. In all cases, in order to assure his survival, he destroyed the alien species.
Over a million years passed as he extended his control across the whole of the galaxy. By then, his success at destruction was completely unmatched. Only then could he rest, assured of his safety and survival.
Every few million years, he would patrol the galaxy in search of any new lifeforms who had achieved sentience or a level of technology that allowed them to travel through the stars. Then he would then eradicate them. This cycle continued for over a billion years, until his meeting with the Sol'k. He found in them a potential to finally have a slave race who he could control completely, slaves who would serve and defend him. With them, using their technology, he established a vast network of the Sol'k pyramids across the worlds of the galaxy. Each pyramid served as a beacon, a warning system of sorts, that would awake him should any sentient species discover and activate the pyramids.
Following the unintentional activation of a Sol'k pyramid located on the moon of Brin-2 by Arcturus Astrum (of Earth) on 3410.53RD, which opened a portal to Velkinor's world, the godlike entity Velkinor was awakened and initiated a conquest of destruction. During the course of this war, much was learned of Velkinor, including his only exploitable weakness... the mind. Through the combined mental collective of the Turuk species (Narana), they were able to mentally overpower Velkinor and force his surrender.
Velkinor still exists, living on his home world, but he lives now cut off from the rest of the galaxy, a prisoner in the mental cage maintained by the Turuk.
