The Labyrinth

All the Realms of Peiramaxira are collectively referred to by its inhabitants as The Labyrinth.

[more to come]

Vashoa’uuk

Known by many different names from all the diverse cultures of the Saahref, within the Labyrinth, the God of Suffering is called by the name Vashoa'uuk. Spoken of only in hushed whispers, if at all, Vashoa’uuk is the creator and master of the Labyrinth as well as the mysterious overseer of The Trial. However, only the Rajahraf claim to have ever communicated with Him, even then only to receive commands as to how to manage the operations of The Trial.

The book titled Guide to Lord Odhava’s Judgment: What to Expect in the Afterlife found in Castle Hemoxus indicates that Vashoa’uuk was tasked by some greater power to oversee The Trial and choose the Oberik of each cycle. However, no further reference is found of who or what the "greater power" may be.

The Rajahraf are a diverse group, coming in many forms. Most resemble the horrific demons of Humanity's nightmares and the darker sides of their religions. Although some do serve roles similar to the demonic tormentors of Hades, there are many other responsibilities which they fulfill in service to Vashoa'uuk:

  • enforcers
  • entertainers
  • executioners
  • laborers
  • managers
  • prison guards
  • saboteurs
  • soldiers
  • spies
  • tormentors
  • wardens

Although most inhabitants of Peiramaxira have come to fear the Rajahraf, not all the actions of the Rajahraf are nefarious. Tales are told of chance encounters where a Rajahraf came to the aid of a Saahref in a dire situation. Vashoa'uuk is mysterious and none truly know the intent of his orders given to the Rajahraf. However, everyone eventually learns that it best to stay out of the way of an Rajahraf and avoid them whenever possible.

The Rajahraf are found all throughout the Labyrinth, individually, in small groups, occupying entire towns and even forming massive armies. There are places spoken of in whispers where the Rajahraf toil at secret tasks where no Saahref are ever permitted, but nowhere in the Labyrinth are the Rajahraf restricted from. Many a secret faction meeting or criminal undertaking done in supposed secrecy have been raided by Rajahraf enforcers.

Finding oneself in opposition to a Rajahraf is never a good thing. All have exceptional abilities at dealing harm while easily shrugging off most damage inflicted upon them. They have a sadistic nature, as if they feed off the suffering of others. Seldom to they show mercy. Resistance is often futile, for they can easily call others over for support, so it is often best just to accept ones punishment or flee if left the option.

The Four Horsemen

There are four, totally unique Rajahraf who inhabit the Labyrinth. Little is known about them, but most Saahref liken them to generals of the Rajahraf or the supreme minion of Vashoa'uuk who are tasked with especially vital missions. It is rumored that one of their primary tasks is to "shepherd" the Oberik, ensuring that each Oberik remains on task within The Trial. Due to their haunting demeanor and because they are always seen on horseback, Saahref of Earth call them "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse".

Saahref

While the Rajahraf, the minions of the Vashoa’uuk, are the only native inhabitants of the Labyrinth, they are not the only inhabitants. The Saahref are a larger population comprised of individuals from a myriad different worlds. Many nationalities, many cultures, many beliefs, many languages, many body forms, many ambitions and many motivations, but what they all share in common is they have all found themselves trapped in the Labyrinth and forced into cohabitation with each other, for better or for worse.

The Trial

Once every nine years, Vashoa’uuk chooses many thousands of individuals from many different worlds (the Saahref), that died in their worlds, and brings them to the Labyrinth. Here, each must endure and survive the individually designed struggles and punishments found within the Labyrinth. This is The Trial. Those that succeed and venture to the end of the Labyrinth are told that they will win their freedom.

Oberik

Each nine year cycle, Vashoa’uuk selects seven individuals from all the Saahref that will serve the special role as champions of the Labyrinth. It is expected of these individuals to champion the cause of a faction and lead those allied with the faction to victory in The Trial and freedom from the Labyrinth.

Oberik Artifacts

There are numerous artifacts scattered throughout the Labyrinth. Each is unique and possesses great magical powers that serve as enhancements to the owner or power weapons. However, the powers of these artifacts will only function for Oberik. Many of the artifacts are secured and guarded, although some have been lost or forgotten.
