The world of Halomaed has a 26 hour rotation (day) and makes one revolution around the sun every 351 days (year). Over seven hundred years ago, the scholars of Turthann established a calendar comprised of 13 months, each 27 days in length, with the first of the year occurring at the middle of summer (solar equinox) on the 1st of Dorthual.

* Summer (151 days long, 7th Naffiodhiol to 22nd Tiashann)... A temperate climate, with regular rain (generally light and most often only in the morning). Occasional storms (typhoons) will blow in from the sea, which can become violent and dangerous. Average Temp: 78 (high), 56 (low).

* Spring (52 days long, 9th Lanra to 6th Naffiodhiol)... the transition into summer brings a sky constantly blanketed with gray clouds and nearly constant drizzle. Fog is very common, especially in the mornings and evenings, and often becomes quite dense. Average Temp: 52 (high), 38 (low).

In the far north and south kingdoms (Jeraemir & Turthann), summer has a 14 hour long day, winter it is only 4 hours

The world of Halomaed has two moons, one about 30% larger than the other, which are both visible to those in the Kingdom of Turthann. On very rare occasions (every 368 years) the moons align perfectly in the night sky in such a way that both become eclipsed by the planet. The last such eclipse was midnight on 7th of Naffiodhiol, 582.

*Genoth (larger moon), with a 32 hour orbit, has a slight reddish tint. Although the moon orbit is not in retrograde, since the orbital period is longer than the 26 hour rotation of the planet, the moon appears to travel from west to east.

==Seasons on Kaliteth==

*Winter (52 days long, 16th Munetla to 13th Srifan), seldom has snow or gets cold enough for ice, but is the most rainy season of the year, with a nearly constant drizzle, and fog is especially common in the mornings, evenings and on chilly especially-overcast days. Average Temp: 56 (high), 34 (low). The mid-winter equinox is midnight of 14th of Vullias.

*Spring (29 days long, 14th Srifan to 15th Lanra), is just a transition period between the cool, wet winter to the warm summer.

*Summer (241 days long, 16th Lanra to 13th Tharullo), is the longest season of the year, nearly five times as long as the winter season, and has the warm weather typical of a sub-tropical environment. Rain is regular, but light and generally only in the early morning. Occasional storms will blow in from the sea, which can become violent and dangerous. Average Temp: 78 (high), 62 (low).

*Fall (29 days long 14th Tharullo to 15th Munetla), the inverse of Spring, with a gradual transition into winter.
